About the Area

With an average of 343 days of sunshine each year, Perdido Key beckons guests with 16 miles of stunning white sand beaches and clear, emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Development of the shore has been more limited on this barrier island in northwest Florida so there are fewer towers and more stretches of sand dunes dotted with sea oats.

The midsection of Perdido Key includes Perdido Key State Park, part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The island also features two golf courses, the Perdido Bay Golf Club and Lost Key, designed by Arnold Palmer and designated as an Audubon Signature Cooperative Sanctuary golf course.

With more than half of the community located in federal or state parks, it’s one of the few remaining pristine stretches of wilderness in the Florida Panhandle. Located about 18 miles southwest of Pensacola, Fla, in the far northwestern portion of the state, it offers a variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options for the whole family.
